The only 2d element in the scene is the sky, everything else is 3d. I am thoroughly surprised my old computer did not blow up with that much geometry in my scene , although during the creation process of this image I did crash frequently.

The environment is loosely based on the environment frog is seen in during the masamune cutscene in the PS1 version of chrono trigger. (See cutscene here: [link])

I rendered out around 10 different passes from 3ds max and comped them together in photoshop (with other adjustments) to create this final image. As with all the CT images I have been doing, I have learned a lot.

ANYWAY, I hope you guys like it.

This is badass dude, I was wondering who made this cuz I saw this screenshot in a few youtube music videos of CT on youtube.

I wish they'd make a Chrono Trigger 2, Chrono Cross was a great game but ... they killed off the main characters by saying they died in a time paradox. That's bullshit.

I realize this is a few months old, but... I can't ignore this. Chrono Cross never killed off the main characters. In fact, Chrono Cross heavily implies that Crono and Marle are alive, since there are drawings of them in Lucca's Orphanage and Lucca mentions them in her letter to Kid. Lucca was probably killed by Lynx, but when the dimension merge at the end of the game, Lynx is erased from the timeline so Lucca is alive and well in the end.

Chrono and Marle appeared as ghosts along with Lucca before the showdown with the Time Devourer. Frog would have died off with age obviously. But in the PS1 ending of Chrono Trigger, it shows an unknown swordsman defeating another unknown swordsman that has the Masamune. The evil swordsman kills the good swordsman protecting the Castle Guardia in 1005 AD, and then he picks up the Masamune and walks off with it. It then shows the Kingdom of Guardia burning in flames. It is believed this was Lynx or a henchman of Lynx. Though the hero wielding the Masamune is unknown.

Others say Chrono and Marle were deceased by a time paradox.

They do appear on Opassa Beach, but it doesn't have to mean they're dead. The guy taking the Masamune in the Chrono Trigger FMV is Dalton, which is revealed in CT:DS, and he has nothing to do with Lynx. Guardia did fall, but it's never stated that Crono and Marle died. The Ghost Children in Chrono Cross also don't prove it, because they're a complete enigma.

Then the remaining mystery is who the current wielder of the Masamune was, valiantly defending the castle. Ugh. I hate Dalton, he's a big bumbling idiot. He succeeded in getting his revenge, too.. how depressing. Question is how he escaped the Dead Zone.

Just random music videos or remixes on youtube. A lot of youtube users just conglomerate together a bunch of fanart off deviantart for music videos
